John, Thanks for the lessons over the winter. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks but your constant search on finding the right way to express the notes took a lot of frustration out. Looking forward to taking more lessons next year.

Hey John, just checking in.
My auditions at school went great, I ended up with a principle chair as a freshman, which doesn't happen often. I hope we can continue with some possible lessons over winter break.

Hi John,
We just scheduled a consult for my husband(Jeremy Thurston)on the 20th at 6:30. It's a surprise so I can't wait to see what he thinks. :) You mentioned that you could send me something to give him for his b-day this saturday. Thanks, Carrie

I played piano in your bigband back in the spring 80 at Berklee. I was cleaning out some files and I ran across a poster you had made up for a gig we did at school, I had to find you on the net. I never got to tell you how much I appreciated being in your band. I always admired your playing and your personal drive. I really enjoyed the short time I had in your band.
My father passed away after my spring semester at Berklee and I stayed home to help mom with the family biz. I have been a retailer of swimming pools, spas and billiards since 1982.
I live in the Milwaukee area and still gig all the time.
Glad I found your site.

Hi. I'm 13 years old and in 8th grade. I was wondering what type of instruments can play in the "Jam Band". If you could email me some information on it that would be great. Oh, and by the way, your site is very interesting! Thanks, Randy

I was lucky enough to meet John through a clinic back when I was in 7th grade (now a senior at Syracuse University). I took lessons from him until I graduated high school. He is an amazing teacher, and above that, an amazing person. Take lessons from him and you will grow as a musician and as a person. Though it's been a few years since I've sat down with John, I always think about all that he taught me. Thanks John!

Great clinic. I've never had a lesson or been to one and i loved it. It gave me some much needed direction. I came home and set up my kit different and immediately started practicing crossing my left hand skills to my right hand and uncrossing my hands. Also started working on doubles triples and quads. Thanks for the direction.
